I’m Al, a writer, photographer, and lifelong collector of stories.
I started my first blog in 2009, long before I knew where all of this would lead. Since then, I’ve written my way through different cities, seasons, homes, and chapters of life.
Finding Fox Cross is the next chapter.
Named for the old family farm at the center of so much of my life, this is a place for the things I keep coming back to: good food, beautiful places, old houses, small towns, changing seasons, and the people and traditions that give a place its character.
Scott has been part of the story almost from the beginning, and you’ll see plenty of him here. These days, our two little ones are along for the ride, too. But at its heart, Finding Fox Cross is my way of documenting what catches my eye, sparks my curiosity, or feels worth remembering.
Sometimes that means dinner around our own table. Sometimes it means a back road in Western New York, a weekend somewhere new, a project at the farm, or a place I can’t wait to tell someone about.
There is always something worth finding.
Welcome to Finding Fox Cross.
